A new feature of IMARC 2020, IMARC METS Arena #Live, was launched in Australia by the Victorian Minister for Resources, the Hon. Jaclyn Symes MLC, to help the global mining and METS industry to stay connected while travel is restricted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new IMARC METS Arena #Live event series will lead into IMARC 2020, connecting global miners, engineering companies, contractors and pre-qualified METS companies to solve specific mining company problems or industry aggregated problems.

Supported by the Victorian Government and IMARC’s other Founding Partners, AusIMM, Austmine and Mines and Money the new IMARC METS Arena #Live events will see a panel of experts come together to discuss the issues that matter with the audience in a live and engaging interactive online format.

Launching the event, the Minister for Resources, the Hon Jaclyn Symes said “I am delighted that IMARC and its Founding Partners - the Victorian Government, AusIMM, Austmine and Mines and Money - are helping to ensure that the global mining and METS industry can continue to meet and do what they do best – solve problems to help supply the world with the resources needed to improve living standards.

“It’s more important than ever to strengthen Victoria’s METS sector - delivering new jobs and economic opportunities by expanding local and global markets,” the Minister said.

The IMARC team will work with team at Global Victoria to bring these events to life.  The best of the events will be showcased at IMARC 2020 as part of a new METS Arena feature.

Anita Richards, Managing Director of Beacon Events, the organiser of IMARC, said “IMARC’s mission is to bring the global mining industry together to create opportunities and IMARC METS Arena #Live will do that every fortnight through to October when the International Mining and Resources Conference will again be held.”

“The engaging online format, featuring special guest hosts and a panel answering questions from each other and the wider audience, is a precursor to some of the exciting new content we will have at IMARC,” Ms Richards said.

In these unprecedented times, where doing business in person may not be possible, it is more important than ever that the global mining and METS industry stay connected.

IMARC METS Arena #Live will help connect more people across the world, more often.

The first IMARC METS Arena #Live event will be held in June.

“As the leading and most established mining investment event series, Mines and Money is excited to support IMARC as a Founding Partner in delivering the IMARC METS Arena #Live Series. Our recently launched Mines and Money 5@5 series – a virtual networking event which brings together miners and investors from around the globe – has demonstrated just how hungry our audience is for digital connection right now. The mining community has always sought out new and innovative solutions to industry challenges; the IMARC METS Arena #Live will enable the industry to continue to innovate at a time when we are largely unable to connect face-to-face.” commented Mines and Money's Global Head of Mining, Mike Hill.

AusIMM CEO, Stephen Durkin stated "as the primary peak body for people working in the resources sector and a founding partner of IMARC, AusIMM is committed to seeing the industry prioritise innovative and accessible event delivery methods like this. AusIMM continues to support industry professionals with year-round online professional development opportunities to learn and stay connected wherever they are in the world."

"Austmine is proud to be supporting this new initiative for the METS industry alongside IMARC's Founding Partners" attributed to a spokesperson from Austmine
