The Australian Government’s $50 million Business Events Grants program has been extended for three months and criteria expanded, so more companies will now be eligible.

As the International Mining and Resources Conference + EXPO (IMARC) is an approved event under the program, eligible businesses can apply for grant funding to cover up to 50% of eligible expenditure incurred in participating at the coming IMARC in Melbourne from 25-27 October. Eligible expenditure could include:

  • The purchase of your exhibition space
  • Registration costs for delegates
  • Sponsorship of the event
  • Travel and accommodation
  • Promotional materials
  • Event and display set up costs including contractor costs
  • Non-refundable costs if the event is cancelled due to COVID-19

The minimum grant amount has been lowered to $5,000 (from $10,000), and the minimum expenditure amount has also been lowered to $10,000 (previously $20,000). In addition to increasing the sponsorship cap, and number of delegates covered by the grant means that more companies will now be eligible for funding.

Applications are currently open, and the deadline to submit has been extended until 30 June 2021. There is $50 million in funding available for Australian businesses, with grants between $5,000 up to $250,000.
