Research by Pitcher Partners earlier this year found that 68 per cent of survey respondents predicted that mergers and acquisitions (M&A) will exceed last year’s $52.4 billion in deals in 2019. With less than five months until the end of this year, sentiment from industry seems to concur; more JVs and alliances are also being formed within the mid-market in 2019, which was also the area of the market responsible for the most deals in 2018 with 75 last year, 23 large cap and 14 small cap.
